A 28-year-old man is in custody for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl for 5 days.
Abdulkadir Salihu was yesterday arraigned at Lokoja Senior Magistrate Court on a two-count charge of kidnapping and rape, Vanguard reports.
According to the prosecution represented by police officer, Corporal Ubi Ubana, the case was reported to police by the girl’s uncle Adama Ibrahim on October 23.
The man alleged that the suspect “enticed” his teenage niece into his house on October 16 without consent of her guardian, and had sex with the girl against her will. Moreover, he allegedly kept the victim in his room for 5 days, during which period he “had sex with his captive for several times before releasing her on October 20″.
The suspect was arrested and is currently remanded at the Medium Security Federal Prisons, Koton-Karfe, while the investigation is ongoing. The case was adjourned to November 10.
